A proud alumnus of the University of New Brunswick and Concordia University (Montreal), Mark holds an MBA and MA in Sports Administration, Graduate Diploma in Sports Administration and a Diploma in University Teaching.  He also holds a certificate in marketing from UCLA Extension.  He is an experienced consultant, educator, thought-leader and professional speaker in the sports business industry with specific interests in Marketing & Branding, Sports Ethics, Sports Law, Sports Technology and Fan Engagement. Mark has recently been named a Senior Sports Business Instructor & Woodard Family Foundation Fellow at the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center, Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon. Prior to this appointment Mark has served as Director of the Sport Business MBA & BA Programs and Assistant Professor of Sports Business at Concordia University Irvine. He also serves as a Distinguished Lecturer in Sports Business at UCLA Anderson’s Center for Media, Entertainment and Sports where he co-authored UCLA’s first ever undergraduate online business of sport course. He also serves as Course Author and Professor for the MBA program in Hockey Business for Athabasca University & The Business of Hockey Institute in Edmonton, Canada. In 2016 and 2017 respectively, Mark had the privilege of acting as Lead Instructor for UCLA Extension’s Custom Programs in Sports & Entertainment Marketing in Shanghai, China and for a specialized Sports Marketing symposium for the Shenzhen Fortune Capital Group in Los Angeles.

Mark boasts a wealth of experience at all levels of Sports & Entertainment from business consulting and academic perspectives which enable him to speak from experience when it comes to his business relationships and teachings. He speaks regularly on numerous topics related to the Business of Sports having appeared most recently at the the 2022 UCLA Anderson Global Sports Business Forum, 2022 PrimeTime Sports & Entertainment Conference in Toronto, Canada, 2019 Future of Sport Symposium at SoFi Stadium, 2019 Keynote presentation on US College Admissions Scandal, 2018 PrimeTime Sports & Entertainment Conference, 2018 Keynote Presentation on the State of Canadian University Sport, 2017 UCLA Anderson Big Data Conference, 2016 Prime Time Sports Management Conference, 2015 Gravity Summit & UCLA Sports Technology Panel, 2014 LA Dodgers/LA Chamber of Commerce panel on Sports Technology, 2014 Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce Panel on the “Art of Negotiation in Sports,” 2014 United Talent Agency Panel on Sports Technology, Chapman University Law School, Occidental College, UCLA Extension, University of New Brunswick, University of Victoria (Canada), The Berkshire School, and UCLA’s Annual Pulse Conference on Sports & Entertainment.

Through his current and prior professional associations with numerous esteemed Sports & Entertainment organizations, Mark has developed an extensive professional network throughout all levels of these industries, many of whom appear annually during his Sports Business program at UCLA Anderson. He also serves on the Board of Advisers for multiple organizations including The Impact Learning Institute, US Performance Academy, Sports Engager, LLC. Athleta-Ed, and California Lutheran University’s Sport Management Program.

A dedicated supporter of community involvement, Mark has served Head Coach of the Men’s Ice Hockey program at UCLA since 2010. The Bruins won the 2017 PAC 8 Conference Championship along with the LA Kings College Cup and Crosstown Cup Championships respectively. He was also selected as one of two finalists for the PAC 8 Coach of the Year Award for 2012 and was selected as Head Coach of the PAC-8 Selects at the ACHA National Championships in Philadelphia in 2011 and 2013 respectively. He served a two-year term as the Associate Executive Director of the PAC 8 Men’s Hockey Conference. Mark also holds 2 Canadian University National Silver Medals and 2 Atlantic Conference Championships from his time with the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Men’s Ice Hockey program. He also served as the Head Coach of the Varsity Women's Hockey program at UNB from 2004-2007.
